It taste similar to the old chalk that teachers use on a chalk board at school. I know because I use to eat it as a child in school. I would actually take it from the school board and secretly eat it. Whenever I would smell the dust from the chalkboard at school it would immediately start an overwhelming crave to eat the chalk. For some reason it satisfied a deep crave that I was experiencing during parts of my childhood. I also liked the real white chalk in the earth, It is soooooo good and how I know is because my mother let me taste it as a child. She would literally go or have friends go out into chalk hills to find the earth's chalk mainly when she was pregnant. It's quite amazing because I am now 41 years old and still have those same cravings.
white and smooth and solid! Kathrynxxx

chalk
limestone or could be gypsum Could be chalk. Dip it in vinegar. If it fizzes, it might be a sedimentary carbonate rock like limestone or chalk. There is always a possibility it is another kind of sedimentary rock or possibly an extrusive igneous one. Testing is needed to be sure.
yes the rock is exactly the same in both places :)
Chalk does not belong to a rock group. Chalk is a type of sedimentary rock composed mainly of the mineral calcite.
it becomes a shale rock. There is no way that chalk, a form of limestone, can be metamorphosed into shale. It will like limestone change to marble.
Yes. Chalk is a porous rock.
Chalk is a biochemical sedimentary rock.
Invented by Children.I have been wondering that as well. They also seem to look like crayons. Other wise I'm really not that sure of why they look like chalk. It may look like crayons and chalk, but I think it may be out of oil. But then it might have to feel like oil is put in the pastels. I used them, but I'm still not sure. They must look like chalk and crayons because: 1. Chalk almost looks like pastels because it has the same size and shape. It even feels like chalk. 2.Crayons have thoes wrappers around it. That is what pastels have too. It looks like crayons, but it has no tip.
