Well, Elephants have a tough skin to protect themselves from insect bites, they use their trunks to hit their enemies. Elephants even use mud to protect themselves from a sun burn.

When an elephant is weak, sick, or a child and is in danger of being attacked because of their vunerability, the elephant will be in the middle of the parade(or herd) of elephants. Then any animal will not be able to get to the vunerable elephant.
