House, as in English, has various aspects. Can refer to a dwelling, a Religious edifice ( the House of God)- or A ruling Family line- as in the modern House of Windsor- or Japan"s House of the Rising Sun. at times, can refer to either an entire building or a subdivision- like the passage- In my Father"s House, there are many mansions. in some languages ( French)- the word for House and mansion is the same- MAISON. I needn"t get into the General Motors heresy-well good for a Laugh. In My Father"s Garage, there are Many Stalls- in memory of Miss Donna Mae Mims- female sports-car racer!

They were called just houses, and sometimes shacks or even mansions.
