If pregnancy is a possibility I suggest waiting until you skip a period and take an at home test or make an appointment with your doctor to do a blood test however, if your not pregnant make sure that you talk to your doctor about why this could happen, certain birth controls cause breakthrough bleeding, and spotting, if you have an infection or STD this can also cause breakthrough bleeding and spotting....hope everything works out for you Good Luck and God Bless!!!
