No worries; you're not immature.
Jealousy is natural and can happen to anyone at any age. It's something very hard to control, and is known as one of the seven deadly sins, since it's never good to be jealous; but that doesn't make it any less common. Even the most mature people get envious sometimes.
If you're jealous about your friend getting all of the attention, maybe talk to them about it. Let them know that you feel more like a shadow than an equal, and maybe they'll tone it down a bit.
One thing to never do is to start to be an attention hog or seeker. If you do things out of desperation for attention, you'll get it, but not in a positive way.
Just focus on the things you're good at yourself, and don't worry about your friend. Everyone is different, and maybe seeking attention is his/her kind of thing. If you're good at drawing, do that! Or, any other hobbies. Doing what you're good at without worrying about others is a good way to get positive feedback and attention, and your jealousy should fade away (:
Feeling jealous of a friend who gets all the attention may indicate feelings of insecurity or a desire for validation. It could also suggest a fear of being overlooked or not feeling valued by others. It's important to address these feelings and communicate openly with your friend about how you're feeling.
It's not healthy or productive to try to make someone jealous. Instead, focus on building your own self-confidence and cultivating positive relationships. Engage in activities that make you happy and fulfill you, regardless of what others may think.
An attention seeker is someone who craves or seeks out attention from others in order to feel validated or important. They often engage in behaviors that are attention-grabbing, dramatic, or excessive in order to attract the focus of others.
