The timing belt runs from the crankshaft to the cam, which controls the valvetrain. The belt must be replaced at regular intervals,(As outlined in your owner's manual), before it breaks. Some engines are called Interferance Engines. If a belt breaks on one of these engines, serious damage to the valves & or pistons will occur. The cost varies with the vehicle.
A Grand Caravan does not have a timing belt.
It doesn't have a timing belt. It has a timing chain.
Honda what???????
Changing the timing belt will cost approximately $600. A broken timing belt can ruin your entire engine, of which will cost many times more than the $600.
2006 corolla has a timing chain which does not have to ever be replaced.
If it is a 4 cylinder is has no timing belt. If it is a V6 the belt must be replaced at 110,000 miles. The average cost depends on where you live. In my area it is around $300.
The cost to replace the timing belt on a 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse is about $700. This will depend on what else needs to be replaced and the dealer that you use.Ê
if the timing belt broke while you where driving you need a new motor it smashed the valves and blew the motor
I don't know the cost as that depends on where you live, but may I give you some advice. As the water pump is driven by the timing belt, if this car has over 100,000 miles on it, replace the timing belt at the same time as the belt. This will save you money down the road when the pump fails. The belt should be replaced every 60,000 miles.
roughly $150-$400 depending on which ripoff you take it to, or do it yourself for cost of belt, $15-$60
over a grand
If you are talking about the timing belt it should run $350 or so. When you get the timing belt replaced-replace the water pump as well. Anothe 100 or so for parts, but labor is the same as the timing belt.
