To take ownership of a problem with a customer means to take a personal interest in the resolution of the problem. Even if you must involve others to solve the problem, stay involved and make sure that the ball does not get dropped for this customer.

What does it mean to take ownership during a customer care call?

Ownership means to "own" something. It is pretty much the first step to good customer service. It is also a great thing to remember in ones private life as well. To "own" something (at work) ie an issue is to take stock of the situation, communicate to the person who had approached you that you will help him out as well as how you will help him. And last but not least, acutally see your committment through on this. In case the issue is beyond your remit or ability, ensure that you hook up with somebody who can help and let your customer know that as well. Let's face it. Without acccountability and saying to ourselves mentally that this is something we need to do, is the only way to get something done. So simply owning an issue and seeing it resolved and communcating effectively and timely about the process is ownership.

What is customer care and customer services?

Well I am afraid I don't know what "customer care" is but I am guessing it mean's that people that work at a perticular store that they will take care of you e.g, get you more clothes, get you refreshments, but "customer services" means that if you buy like a top for your family/ friend a nice piece of clothing and they either don't like it or they don't fit into it then "customer services" means that you can return that item.

What does it mean to be an advocate for the customer?

Often in companies there is a conflict between making decisions that benefit the company and decisions that benefit the customer. To be an advocate for the customer means to support doing the right thing for the customer, or making sure that the customer has a good experience, even if it means that the company isn't quite as profitable in the short-term. It's making sure that you remember the needs of the customers in whatever you do in the company, and trying to help others rather than just take advantage of them.

What should you do if customer complains?

One of the most important things to do is to listen to what the customer is saying. Try not to take the complaint personally or listen too much to the 'tone' of voice as sometimes customers can be a bit aggressive and rude. Stay calm and positive enough to think clearly and help the customer. Be sure to apologize sincerely (even if it wasn't your fault) and do you best to rectify the problem. If you do not have the authority to solve the problem yourself, inform your supervisor and act on the complaint as soon as you can. Make sure that the customer is aware of your efforts to rectify the problem and apologize again. Remember, everyone makes mistakes and it is best to think of a few ideas of how to solve such problems in the future. Prevention is better than cure so be sure to learn for your mistakes and not let them happen again.

If you caused the problem then you should fix it. If you can't without saying you did it, and you don't want to quit, sat that you did it because it might lower the consequence.

What role does the customer have during the project life cycle?

The customer first must identify the need or problem. some times the problem is identified quickly, as in a case of a disaster such as an earth quake or explosion. In other situation it may take months for a customer to clearly identify a need, gather data on the problem, and define certain requirements that must met by the person, project team, or contractor who will solve the problem. Customer also signs an agreement or contract with the organisation or person who is ready to undertake the project. -anshul.jain0562@gmail.com
