To write-protect (stop deletion, overwriting, or adding to) a 3 1/4" floppy disk, slide the tiny plastic tab at the back of the disk (opposite the shutter), so that it is open.
To protect a disk from damage, keep it in a dry, temperature-controlled environment free of dust and smoke. Avoid any contact with strong magnetic field (sudh as on top of stereo speakers).
Keep the floppy disk away from magnetic fields.
Set the 'Write Protect' switch on the disk to protect.
You have Locked it by sliding the tab on the back side of the disc
You can read it, but you cannot write on it.
put the files on a CD...
It is a good idea to write protect on a floppy disk because it is a back to make sure the disk doesn't get overwritten. A disk can also be write protected by pushing a small tab on top of the disk to reveal a hole.
Yes. The write protection notch is the same for USB, floppy, and other portable media. What is is supposed to do is prevent changing of the data, not reading of the data, on the disk.
a floppy disk slot is what you put the floppy disk in on a CPU
You can only read the data.. Can't change it..
You can only read the data.. Can't change it..
Write-Protect Tab (you call it a "notch") is a little plastic rectangle in the upper right corner of most floppy disks. When the hole is open, the disk is locked and you can't add any more files to the floppy. If the write-Protect Tab is missing, simply cover the hole with a bit of sticky tape and you can add more files to the floppy..
For you to write to a disk, the write-protect notch must be closed.
A floppy disk DRIVE can read, erase and save information on a floppy disk. The disk can't do it by himself.
no the floppy disk rotate slower its because hard disk rotate faster then floppy disk
There is a small slide-switch on the floppy to write or protect
It's higher than Floppy Disk Associate, but not quite Floppy Disk Board of Directors.
To read a floppy disk, you insert a floppy disk into a floppy disk drive. Not all computers have floppy disk drives. Typically desktop computers or ones that stand on the floor have floppy disk drives. New machines today allow a USB thumb drive (USB flash memory storage device) to be used in place of a floppy drive. All modern computersy have USB connections. If you need to read a floppy disk and you computer does not have a floppy disk drive, you can purchase a USB connected floppy disk drive for your computer.
