Charging system problem. Take the ruck to the auto parts store, they can tell you what is wrong, probably the alternator.
What does it mean when the airbag light and battery light on 1999 Ford Escort flashes?
The battery isn't being charged
alternator is not charging battery, or loose - corroded connection on battery cables
Your battery isn't being charged or accepting a charge
The alternator is over or under charging.
There is problem with the charging system.
It indicates that your battery is not being charged and that you need to have the electrical system checked.
My check engine light came on after I hit a pothole. What does this mean?
Battery and brake light coming on means the Alternator is not charging the battery . It could either mean a bad circuit connection or the alternator is just shot. Have the Alternator checked.
it means the light on a battery of a computer or cell phone
It means there is a problem with the charging system. Normally a bad alternator.
the battery light means that your battery is being charged properly. so let it light.
The battery light means your battery is low. You should go to a mechanics.
Hazard light??? Do you mean charging system light? If so it is on because the alternator is not functioning properly.
It normally means the alternator is not putting out enough voltage to keep the battery charged and is defective. Can be a loose alternator belt also.
Bad Alternator or the Battery possibly is losing voltage. I replaced the alternator and serpentine belt before thinking it was the battery. The battery was only 16 months old. But it turned out to be the bad source.
If by charging system you mean battery light then check your battery. It might be dying (or dead). Chances are your car is low on power. Either check and refill the battery with electrolyte (distilled water) or buy a new one. Also, your alternator could be dying. Check that with a test light or a voltmeter.
Typically it means that someting is wrong with the alternator. The vehicle will continue to run until the energy stored in the battery is depleated.
Your battery is not being charged
My 2003 Ford Escape XLS battery light has been on for 6 months. I went to autozone last Wednesday and they said my battery was bad. I got it replaced yesterday. Battery light still on. So tonight after I read another forum, hey said it was the radiator overflow reservoir. I figured it would be worth checking. My reservoir was about 1/2 inch below the full line. I filled it about 1/4 inch above the full line.....lo and behold, the battery light went off when I started the car. How freakin stupid. Also, bought my Escape in '04 and the Airbag light came on. Took it to ford, they said it was the seat tensioner. They fixed it ($169). Came back on 3 months later. They fixed it again (this time they covered it). Has not come on in 5 years. Probably was just the connectors and wires under the passengers seat that get messed up when the seat is moved like other forums have said, and Ford is just retards.
this happened with my 94 sentra just before the alternator died... i would take it to a parts store and have them test the battery and alternator.
The battery in the key fob is low.
That light doesn't mean that your battery needs to be replaced. It means that your battery is not being charged while the car is running. Have your alternator tested.
Unfortunately , your battery is not being charged properly It could be an alternator or voltage regulator problem , a broken or disconnected wire , there might be a fuse for the alternator that has blown ( before the serpentine belt , when multiple belts were used , it could be a broken belt ) if the light came on when the engine was running You would need to have the charging system tested to determine the problem
If you mean a circle that looks sort of like a gear with an exclamation mark in the middle, it represents the Transaxle fault light. Have it looked at by a mechanic. I had this light come on while driving 75 mph....it slammed me hard. I dropped from 75mph to 45mph very quickly without doing anything. I noticed that the "transaxel light" came on. So I took it to Ford and they checked it out. The light came on as a safety warning. My battery cables were too hot. They replaced them and I've had no problems since. Good Luck !!! Ford zx3 owner
