I'm not sure if this is what you're asking, but on the 1996 model, when you puch the ECT (electronically controlled transmission) button, the light comes on and your gear shifting ratio changes to a more "high-performance" mode (if that's what you call it!). Does that help?
where is the ect pwr button located on a 1997 avalon? the light came on and my husband assumed he must have pushed a button by mistake.
It Means Swagg Bro
It means you have pressed the ECT button which changes the transmission shift pattern. Press it again to turn it off.
ECTElectronic Controlled TransmissionIf this light comes on, take it to the dealer. You don't have to take it to a dealer when that light comes on. Depending on the model and year, you just push a button to turn it off and on. like the O/D. That's what I do with mine.
You push the ECT PWR button (located left to the radio) to the "Off" position.
malfunction in transmission.
The ECU enhances throttle response and the transmissions shifts a bit more aggressively. It is completely safe for both the engine and transmission.
some cars abs light comes on if your third brake light is not working. check and see if a wire is broken, ect.
the light bulb on you dashboard means you have and exterior light out if it isn't you headlights blinkers....ect its probably just a short
ECT stands for Electronically Controlled Transmission. When you push the button in, there should be a light on the dash that says "ECT POWER". This changes the normal shift times (based on engine vacuum, rpm, and throttle position) to a later point. This means simply that the engine rpms will go higher before shifting to a higher gear when you're accelerating. It helps build speed more quickly but uses more gas to do so.
It's a power setting for the transmission. It makes it shift a little later.
Nobody knows what you mean by the word "certain".....Please check your spelling.. What does it look like, what's it next to,,,ect...
