it is retarded. <-- No they are not!

The only answers I can come up with, though, are not concrete.

1. They do not see directly ahead of them, because their eyes are on the sides of their heads. (This does not account for everything, though, because they obviously see the wall before they run to it.)

2. They have no concept of the color white. Walls tend to be white. It is common for bearded dragons to run into walls, and many owners have observed it happens specifically with the color white (and not just walls.) (Does not account for non-white things.)

Variant of 1 and 2 - they are tipped off to things by movement. They move their eyes and see the object move in relation to their perception - they know it is real. Perhaps a wall is too big for them to recognize any change in perspective, and they do not think the wall exists.

3. They learn with age. Just like thinking they can fly, they think they can also walk through things. They've got to figure it out on their own. (Makes perfect sense. Dragons who do not learn from experience...I'm not sure.)

4. This may be another way of exploring, threat display/defense, etc. I am not sure why it would be instinctive, but so many dragons from almost all different circumstances do it. It must have been useful at one point in their history - like the appendix humans have. It no longer serves a purpose in captivity. (Or it still might. We just have no idea what it is!)

Well, your bearded dragon is a hermaphrodite... it is probably pregnant and protecting its young.

Will your bearded dragon die if his beard keeps turning black?

After brumation, a bearded dragon's beard usually turns black because it wants to mate, and it usually gets hyper and runs around alot. Sometimes if a bearded dragon's beard keeps turning black, and it becomes listless, as if dead, be on guard. If this is happening, take your beardie to the vet right away.

What if your bearded dragon eat something to big?

This is less dangerous for adult bearded dragons, but can be deadly for hatchlings and juveniles. A dragon's intestinal tract runs perilously close to its spinal cord, and swallowing food that is too large can create a hard lump that damages the spinal cord as it passes through. This leads to hind-limb paralysis and death. Food that is too large can also block the intestinal tract, causing death. Ensure that food you offer to your bearded dragon is no larger than the space between the dragon's eyes.

Can bearded dragons eat bananas?

Yes you can, but only occasionally you don't want to feed it watermelon everyday it could be as a treat. Watermelon can be fed to bearded dragons but is not of much use to them because it is mostly water. It will give them the runs and cause them to be dehydrated. This is similar to lettuce as it is often fed to beadies by owners that are not aware there is no nutritional value in lettuce and it will also give them the runs.

Are a bearded dragon's spikes or spines sharp?

How can you tell when a bearded dragon is choking?

If they aren't closing their mouth properly, and are struggling to breath and swallow, something's obviously not right. A rubber spatula can be used to open the mouth to look, and tweezers can be used to remove any offending item. Bearded dragons are not likely to choke on appropriately-sized insects and greens, however. Be certain that insects and greens are no larger than the space between the dragon's eyes. Oversized insects can kill baby dragons--not just through choking, but also because their spinal cord runs perilously close to their intestinal tract, and the large mass of chitin will damage the spinal cord...causing hind limb paralysis, and death.
