Firm, swollen, warm to the touch, and painful mammary glands can be a symptom of Mastitis, a bacterial infection of one or more teats. This can be a very serious, sometimes life threatening infection. If you think your dog has Mastitis do not delay in having her examined by a veterinarian.
If your dog is either spayed, or not had a recent heat cycle and it isn't Mastitis, it's possible that it's a mammary tumor.
Either way, it's a good idea to have your dog examined by a vet.
Dogs can have false pregnancies like women do. I would take her to the vet, especially if she hasn't been spayed, and have them check her for mammary tumors.
I think that if there is something that you aren't sure about with your dog then you should take she/he to the vet. Did your female dog just have puppies?
only if they are pregnant.
For the vagina about a week nipples until she done nursing, after nursing it will take 10 to 14 days till all milk is dried up
well i am not sure but i think it is normal because my dog had pupps and she was fine my friend's dogs nipples were swollen !
These are one of the cues that indicate a dog is in heat.
Most female dogs normally have eight or ten nipples. However, for those that have never whelped puppies, some of the pairs can be hard to find under their fur.
Yes they do, all mammals have them, male and female. However, male dogs usually have immature nipples. Also, depending on the amount of fur, it is possible to not be able to find their nipples.
I actually was wondering the same thing. I have a dog who is 11 months old and in her first heat. I called the vet because I was worried she may be pregnant when I noticed her nipples were swollen. I called my vet and they said it is normal during heat.
pervert pervert
She will be bleeding, and her vagina will be swollen.
Dogs have a gestation period of approximately 3 months. Their teats will show within the first few weeks of pregnancy.
If your female dog's nipples are turning black and she has black patches on her skin, this may be normal for her specific breed. If it is not, she may have Black Skin Disease, also known as Alopecia X.
