Very often it is a universal pagan expression of the merging of opposites. The marriage of the male sun and the female moon represents unity in diversity, compromise instead of conflict, and the conformity to a new consciousness where all is one.

Sometimes it is just because people like the symbol, so you cannot assume the person you see wearing it is Pagan.
