Generally, that means that the ABS computer has detected a fault somewhere in the system. Quite often it's a wheel sensor, but it can also be the module. To accurately determine what's going on you'll have to connect the ABS to a code reader. Note that this probably isn't the same code reader that you would use for your engine. You may need to go to a brake shop or the dealer to scan the ABS module. Unfortunately, many shops are staffed by people who have no business working on cars. Their solution often is to just replace parts until it starts working, then to charge you for all of the parts that they replaced and give you a long bill, claiming that they were all bad. I don't trust most shops, but don't get me started on that one. most of the time when the light goes on , is a problem with the modulator. go to a servise station and have them use a scan tool and you would just go from there.
