this meant on our 1997 Honda accord that the oxygen sensor needed to be changed out. This will cost about 75-95 dollars and don't skimp on this get a good one but it can be changed out by you if you know anything about cars. I watched our mechanic do it and helped him a bit and I was thinking I could have saved this money. Hope that takes care of your problem! Check engine light also comes on when you have a blown fuse or when you take the battery cables off of the battery and put them back on such as when you are changing the battery or resetting the computer.
