He's either lying, or he is convinced you dislike him(or just like him as a friend). I am personally in this situation, but I'm the guy. My problem, is that the girl appears to like me, but is very scared of commitment and/or getting close to someone. If this is your problem, then you need to get over it quick, because men move on, FAST. Call him and tell him how you truly feel.
