It sounds like he wants to be friends. It means that he cares about you but that he does not want to date you or persue a boyfriend girlfriend relationship with you. It means "He's just not that into you.". I am sorry, it hurts. You may want to ask him why or what happened but you may or may not want to hear his response and it may hurt you more. With time things may change, but I wouldn't count on it. Wish him well and move on by involving yourself with others who care about you whether you can or can't be friends with him right away. God bless you. you said ex- boyfriend.... perhaps you are viewed as "to good", and as rare as it may be he thinks he will only hold you back in life. or its a ploy to get you closer in thoughts of bigger rewards either way ex is ex and you need to move on in life

It is not weird. Some siblings aren't as close as others. My sister doesn't tell me that she loves me, and we are close, she just isn't tell people how she feels very often.
