Your eye colour is determined by the amount and distribution of melanin in your iris *melanin also determines the colour of your skin and hair* With age the melanin in your eye can decrease, causing fading, also causing our hair colour to fade. This is the only explanation i have for a persons eye colour fading. If your worried about your eyes because of this, i wouldn't worry too much but go get them checked out by an optometrist if you continue to worry.
The term phenotype means what you see. Like black eyes or brown eyes or blue eyes. The same is for hair color. This is different from genotype which means what is in the genes or what genes are not expressed. A person with brown eyes can carry a gene for blue eyes. This is the genotype. Each person carries genes that are expressed or what are seen and also genes that are not expressed and are not seen.

Eye color is not an example of polygenetic traits. Skin color is. Eye color is rather simple as far as genetics go (in humans). Brown (B) is dominate and blue (b) is recessive. A person with blue eyes has to have to have both genes for the color blue (bb). A person with brown eye color can has both genes for brown (BB) or one for brown and one for blue (Bb). The blue is not expressed in this case with Bb. Some people have hazel eyes but this is a variation of the blue color.
The phenotype is the characteristic or trait that is expressed in the organism. So, for example, if a person has blue eyes, his/her phenotype for eye color is blue. In case you didn't know, the genotype is simply the gene that codes for the phenotype. So with the blue eyes, the genotype of the person for eye color must have been recessive alleles (because blue eyes are a recessive trait).

I don't believe the color of one's eyes has anything to do with the level of honesty that person possesses. Honesty is a character trait. A value that a person carries with them and is usually embedded into them as a child growing up. So whether the person has light brown eyes, green eyes, blue eyes, or whatever color of eyes it may be has no affect on whether or not they will be an honest person or not. Therefore, you should guide yourself more by getting to know the person, measuring if their actions measure up to their words than by the color of their eyes.
