Vehicles using R-12 refrigerant will have to be brought to a dealer or air-conditioning shop for recharging as R-12 is no longer available to the public.

sorry that's all the info i have.you can empty it by pushing the valve down and putting the retrofit valves on it and by installing the new r134 mine has been working for two years now with now problems

There are available "conversion" kits. It is simple and advisable.

I know that this has nothing to do with your car, but it does give you an idea what is in store for your conversion.

Y-THINK-YI just recently coverted my 1990 Lincoln Town Car to r134. I was told i needed to change the dryer and also a small orifice on the system. Having never changed anything on the later model cars, I later found out it takes a special tool just to disconnect the a/c line from the drier and to reinstall the new one. It's real simple once you get the right tools from the parts place. It's a a/c and gas line quick disconnect kit. I still have not figured out where the orifice is supposed to be installed. Someone told me it was close to the condensor. Now I have to pull a vacuuum and recharge with the 134. by the way, changing the compressor was not much fun.

R12 unless it has been retrofitted for R134.

What does it take to convert a 1988 Honda Accord to R134 freon?

To convert an R12 system to R134 all of the R12 will have to be removed. The system will have to be completely flushed out then special additives installed. This is done due to the way the different Freon's react to the systems gaskets. After this is done then the system is ready to be set up with new Freon.

Does the air conditioning system take r134 to recharge it and does coolant in radiator affect the air conditioning system on a 1991 Buick Park Avenue?

Originally this car had R12 refrigerant. It may have since been updated to accept R134a. The coolant/radiator system is not part of the air conditioning system. But the hot antifreeze-coolant is used for the heating system...

Does a 99 Mitsubishi galant take r12 or r134 for the ac system?

It takes R134. R12 is no longer used in vehicles produced around 1990 and newer. Every vechicle from 95 and on uses R134A. Some cars may have even started converting over to r134 as early as 93 but officially EVERY VEHICLE from 95 and on has r134

What kind of freon is needed for a 1992 Geo Storm?

Your 92' Geo probably uses R12 freon, but since they don't sell that to just anybody in stores they will probably want to sell you R134 freon. I recommend that you just take it to somebody who has an air conditioning license that way he can get you the R12 that it needs. I wouldn't put R134 in your air conditioning system because it might harm it. Plus R12 is very expensive now a days since they don't make R12 systems for cars anymore cause it pollutes the atmosphere, but to tell you the truth it cools alot better than R134. R134 is sort of like the replacement of R12. A can of R12 can cost up to $30, and most cars need around 2 or 2 1/2 cans.

What kind of freon does a 93 mercury sable take?

Unless it has been converted over to R134 it came with R12. I suggest you convert it to R134a. R12 is very expensive.

How much R134 does a 92 GMC suburban take?

The 1992 GMC Suburban came from the factory with R12 not R134. Unless it is has been converted to use R134 you cannot simply add R134. If it has been converted you need to have the leak fixed before adding anything. It is illegal to add refrigerant to any system without first repairing the leak. How much it will hold depends on how much leaked out.

How many cans of freon does a 1992 Honda accord take?

You do not want to buy Freon as it is very, very, expensive. Have the leak repaired, the system purged of all Freon R12 and the oil. Have it converted over to R134 refrigerant. You cannot just add R134 as the oil used in R12 is not compatible with R134. You will be money ahead by converting it.
