Depends on the context...It could be a measure or Torque or tightness of a nut or bolt. nm - Newton-Meter as opposed the English measure ft-lbs or foot pounds.
its pretty much just a test for your emmision.
DDIS means Direct Diesel Injection system which are used in diesel engines. It's similar to VVT (variable Valve timing) which are used in petrol engines.
"Diesel oil" or "Heavy oil" is another term for diesel fuel. Not to be confused with "engine oil for a diesel engine" which means lubricating oil specially formulated for use in diesel rather than petrol engines.

Memu stands for mainline electric multiple unit trains. That means they are pulled by electric engines instead of diesel engines. They are passenger trains in India.

Petrol engines are widely considered to be the most efficient of engines, because they are more refined than diesel. Since diesel is not completely refined, it cannot completely combust and so does not (in theory) produce as much energy per litre of fuel as a petrol engine. However, some diesel engines can be made to be much more efficient than petrol engines because they have a different type of fuel, and burn it in a different way. The letters e.g CLS is the model. The letters at the end usually mean the engines cubic capacity e.g the SLK 55 has a 5.5 litre engine. The cgi means that it is a diesel and if a d is on the end it also means diesel.
Borescopes are instruments used to inspect visually area which can not be accessed by other means. They are commonly used to visually inspect aircraft engines, steam turbines, diesel engines, etc
The engine's pistons compress the fuel (an air and diesel oil mixture) in the cylinders and the heat generated by that compression causes the fuel to ignite.A longer answerDiesel engines ignite their fuel solely by means of compression: whilst spark plugs are used to ignite the gasoline fuel and air mixture in gasoline engines, in diesel engines the diesel oil and air mixture is compressed to a very much higher degree, which causes a lot of heat. The resulting very high temperature causes the fuel to self-ignite.
Diesel fuel is often referred to as "diesel oil" or "heavy oil". Do not confuse this with "engine oil for a diesel engine" which means "lubricating oil specially formulated for use in diesel engines". My first Ford Fiesta diesel's tax disc said - "Fuel - Heavy Oil". They've now realised that this term is anachronistic, and my latest tax disc reads "Fuel - Diesel". To be pedantic - Diesel fuel is an oil - Petrol is a spirit.
