"PPO's are Preferred Provider Organizations which handles health provider types of insurance and is generally accepted by most doctors and medical groups where the member must pay a predetermined co pay and certain deductibles may need to be met before insurance will cover expenses. Today's PPO's have the member services and support to go along with the medical practice offerings. All members and their families can be included in the coverage and there is usually 1 time each year when the company employing the member will offer open enrollment for updates and adjustments to the plan. Consult your company Human Resources dept. for the details and dates of open enrollment. In addition to office visits and procedures, PPO's also provide for Emergency Room procedures and assistance at most hospitals and Urgent Care facilities."
