If an object is moving, no force is required to keep it moving. Forces are required to CHANGE its motion, for example, to speed it up, or to slow it down.
a speed graph shows us how the speed of a moving object changes with time
speed and direction.
If one knows the POSITION and SPEED of an object at a given time, one can then predict the position of that object relative to the original POSITION at any time afterwards. Also useful to know would be the DIRECTION in which it was moving - which would enable a more accurate prediction of it's subsequent position; and any rate of ACCELERATION (or its negative, deceleration), i.e. the rate of change of speed, as this would also affect the object's subsequent position.
Low head water potential makes low water velocities. Low head turbines are then slow and big size. To accommodate that we put there generators with multiple pars of poles. That enable generator running at low speed as 187.5RPM to generate AC of 50Hz. Best Regards from: Nikola Tesla

They let us see the speed of the stars around the common center of mass. More precisely, the Doppler shift will only detect the component of this speed in our direction - that is, towards us, or away from us.
