The Old Testament of the bible is strongly against the killing of Israelites, except where there has been a clear violation of God's commandments. Killing other people's in warfare is perfectly acceptable. In the New Testament, Jesus argues against violence of any sort, even preaching forgiveness for those who break God's laws.
