Religions tend to support married couples teaching their children the faith in which they are a part of and view it as a hardship if say a Jewish woman is teaching her children that the faith is still waiting for the Messiah while the Catholic father is teaching the children that Jesus Christ is the Messiah. It causes a conflict in the faith for the children and so religions encourage inter-faith marriages believing that the parents while do everything they can to teach their children the same faith as themselves.

Religion and Faith both mean you have a strong relationship with what/who you believe in. Religion, I believe, is what you consider yourself to be (ex. Christian, Muslim, Presbyterian, Jewish, Catholic, etc.). Faith, I also believe, is THE worship and belief you give to that person. (ex. Christians worship God, Buddhists worship Buddha, etc.)
