What does the a wisdom tooth look like after extraction also have this white stuff by and around the socket is that bad?

The white is dead tissue - like when you have a cut and it scabs -but in your mouth it cannot scab because of the moisture. Leave it alone to heal. Do not forcefully rinse or gargle to loosen it or the blood clot - it'll cause a dry socket, which is very painful, delays the healing process and possibly another trip to the dentist From other contributors: I have the same thing. I've looked around and from what I can tell this is the answer.
1.) White in the socket Usually nothing to worry about. That's a blood clot. In your mouth it turns white. If your sure it's not food LEAVE IT ALONE. If it is the clot and you remove it, that'll mean a very painful trip to the dentist. 2.) White stuff around it Increase your iron intake and drink more. Whitening of the gums is usually caused by amenmia (blood loss-low iron) or dehydration. Also make sure it's clean. It could also be bacteria. If it doesn't go away, talk to your dentist asap.
