The structure of your body is a big connected web of protein.

(you are actually a KNITTED collagen shape, with specialised adaptations (eg. calcium & phosphorus in bones) woven into it for different purposes)

However, your body DOESN'T use proteins to build or repair these structures. The building blocks are AMINO ACIDS.

Your liver stores amino acids, and these are combined to make proteins, and each protein has a different structure, like putting together several Rubik's cubes to make a picture. There are thousands of different combinations, and only the exactly correct combination will make the right picture.
