Police collect the evidence and they may weigh it and field test it prior to sealing it in an evidence bag. The drugs are sent the property room where they are stored. If they need to be tested (usually cannabis is not tested), the drugs are sent to the lab and a criminalist will weigh and test. When that process is complete the drugs will remain in the property room until trial. At the conclusion of the trial the drugs will be destroyed. Sometimes the drugs will be maintained and used by the police in reverse drug stings.

They sell the drugs to Mexicans in order to make money to pay the Mexicans to construct a large moat to keep the Mexicans out. It's one long, oppressive cycle.
