The first section of the Declaration outlines the natural rights of the people. It states that the purpose of the govt is to uphold these rights (life, liberty, & pursuit of happiness). If the govt fails to uphold these rights, the people have the right and duty to abolish it and put a new one in its place.

The next section goes on to state all the things the King of Britain has done wrong.

The final section states that they will separate from Britain and are fully independent. They will have no ties to the British Crown and will be completely in control of their own country, including trade, alliances, etc.
