Fruit is usually associated with fertility, youth, sensuality, etc. Comparing a woman to a sun ripened fruit would suggest that she is in her prime. Rotten fruit can symbolize decay and excess. Certain fruits have particular symbolism. Apples, for example, thanks to Milton often allude to the biblical story of Adam and Eve. In that context the apple often symbolizes knowledge, sin, and temptation. Pomegranates were the fruit of the underworld in ancient Greece and sometimes are used to convey death.

This is one place where The Bible can be read literally, even if the story of the Garden of Eden is otherwise an allegory. The fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil represents the knowledge of both good and evil. This can be evidence of knowing good from bad for the very first time, or it can mean knowledge of everything (everything is either good or bad).
The yearn for knowledge.

In the book of Genesis I did not like where Eve ate the fruit from the tree. This is a story from the Bible.

An apple can symbolize many things. It is seen as the forbidden fruit or can be a symbol for love or knowledge. Both men and women get apples tattooed on them.
Eve (it was a papaya)Additional information:Actually, the Bible doesn't say what kind of fruit it was...just 'fruit'(Genesis 3:2+6). Eve first ate the fruit, then gave some to her husband, Adam, who also ate. (Genesis 3:6+12)

Adam (and Eve) died initially (Genesis 3:17-19)(Genesis 5:5)and all humanity by extension (Romans 5:12)
It is in Genesis chapter 3 verse 2.
In book of Genesis of the Bible God commands Adam and Eve not to eat the forbidden fruit. Historians and even ministers label the fruit as an a "apple". However, the book of Genesis does not stipulate what exactly the fruit is! My mother, a Bible Teacher at church, was the most perfect person (as far as walking the good walk of faith outside of Jesus Christ that I knew of) and she told me that the fruit WAS NOT AN APPLE but a FIG! I have always trusted my mother.
