The fuel pump inertia switch is a safety device that " breaks " the electrical circuit
to the electric fuel pump so no power flows to the electric fuel pump. This is
supposed to happen when the vehicle suffers a signifigant jolt such as being in a
collision or perhaps hitting a really bad pothole . The switch has to be manually
reset by pushing the button down
Where is the reset button for the fuelpump on an expedition
the fuel reset switch is located on the right front kick panel.
On a 2000 Ford Expedition : The fuel pump shut off switch ( inertia switch ) is located in the front passenger foot well , by the kick panel * the reset button is on top of the switch and if the button has popped up then no power is going to the electric fuel pump and needs to be manually reset by pushing the button down
