In many ways, geographically, Chile is the California of The South, also The Oregon and Alaska of the South. Because Chile is similar to the US West Coast. Just consider that seasons are reversed.

The quality of life is the highest in Latin America, reaching similar levels to Southern Europe but without bulls and castles. So many Chilean towns has some American characteristic: shopping malls, skyscrapers, highways and hardworking people. Santiago is like a modern NYC new trends on architecture and technology.
