One way you locate the indicator relay on your 1999 Ford Fiesta it by looking in the user manual. The manual has diagrams showing the parts of the car.
Inside transmission
Nope. I have an automatic
inside the tranny pan
bring it to a mechanic...
under the hood, on the frount rh side
linkage to transmission poped out!
A malfunction has been detected
No. The cable that connects the gear shift to the indicator may either be broken or requires adjustment. As long as the vehicle goes into the proper gear when selected with the gearshift you should have no problems. The inidcator is more of a nice to have tool than anything. I'd compare it the chime when you leave your keys in or the dome light when you leave to door open. Both are nice to have but can be eliminatd with zeo impact to the vehicles operability.
take the trans pan off remove filter
the trans will still shift into gear with a bad clutch you will find tho, sometimes this will not happen. usaully it is NOT indicative of other problems.
On the rear of the transfer case, near the output.
