A record is a collection of information which can be retrieved through an index.
e.g. A Customer Record with Name, Address, Telephone Number, etc would have a customer ID which would retrieve the customer information.
Also the record would be the ONLY place that the Customer Name, Address etc. would appear.
Any other reference would lead to duplicity of information and errors.
