What Christ is saying here is that if you wish to know the truth of what I have told you then ask the Farther in my name and the Holy Spirit will confirm to you of the truth of my words. The Holy Spirit is also a teacher when one is ready and receptive to the spirits promptings. If you ask with a sincere heart having faith in Christ the Holy Ghost will confirm all things to you. No sooner when the Holy Spirit comes on one, He takes charge of teaching the word of God and He will bring to your remembrance scriptures from all the books of The Bible. To obtain biblical wisdom is part of the gift of knowledge and must be learnt from God. John 6:45 It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me. John the baptist said, "A man can receive nothing except it be given him from heaven." John 3:27 Remember though, I said, "No sooner when the Holy Spirit comes." The Holy Spirit will come to those who believe in Christ and accept him. If you are still in your sins and do not know Christ or believe in him, the bible is a sealed book. Isaiah 29:9-12 Stay yourselves and wonder, cry ye out and cry: they are drunken, but not with wine; they stagger, but not with strong drink. For the Lord hath poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep, and hath closed your eyes: the prophets and your rulers, the seers hath he covered. And the vision of all is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one that is learned, saying, "Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I cannot; for it is sealed," And the book is delivered to him that is learned, saying, "Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned." Unless your sins are forgiven, the bible is a sealed book.

When Jesus mentions the Spirit of the Father in Matthew 10 verse 20 is this a reasonable representation of the Holy Trinity?

A:Christians regard the Holy Trinity as three persons in one God - the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. There is actually nothing in the Bible that supports the concept of the Holy Trinity, but we could look at whether this passage is a reasonable representation. When Matthew has Jesus say, "For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you," He is at most talking of the Holy Spirit, not representing the Spirit as part of the Holy Trinity. When we look at the key words, "the Spirit of your Father," it is even less like the later Christian idea of three persons in one but seems to excludes Jesus from a close relationship with the Spirit.

Why do you need the Holy Spirit as your counselor?

I suppose that's indirect. The Holy Spirit is what enters you upon salvation. It acts as your conscience (there is a reference for that, I dont particularly know it though.) and your guilt and what not. So indirectly, your conscience leads your actions and what you do that you deem right or wrong. So the Holy Spirit is your counselor to every single action you do already anyways.

What is the relationship between the work of the Son and the work of the Spirit of God?

The Son is our Savior, the Way to GOD. The Holy Spirit is our tour guide so to speak, counselor.
