ANSWER by Engl1sh: I believe in the Pledge of Allegiance "Under God" refers to the idea that this country (America) was established with God supporting it, as in God wanted it to come into existence and that is why the Revolutionary war was won by the Americans. By this I mean that under God's protection we were able to win the war and establish a new fledging nation. Under God may also apply to the morality of the nation, or the country's willingness to follow a moral compass. By this, under God may mean that God has given America the authority (and power) to not only prosper well economically but to serve the world in many "humanitarian-like" ways.
