bull terrier if he's older and docile, deff not a puppy one, and as long as he's very well-trained. but to be honest, i wldn't leave either breed alone in a room with small children, teen are okay, though. look up English bull terriers on you tube, there's a video of an older white EBT playing with a baby, if you're worried. but the first thing any good EBT breeder will ask you is 'do you have any children?'
it depends how you raise them if youhave them fighting or being aggressive they most likely wont. But if you raise as a good do it might. also if if you adopt it it might have had a bad future so it just depends.
Depends on the individual dog, but I would say Doberman.
Another perspective:Mastiffs are wonderful dogs with children, when you acquire the dog after the children are in the household. Mastiffs can be good with children who come into the home after the dog, however extra care must be taken to properly socialize them, just like every other breed of dog.Mastiffs have gotten a bad reputation as a potentially dangerous dog like several other breeds. While mastiffs can be made to be aggressive, and have the appearance of a large and potentially brutal animal, they are very loving and gentle. As puppies, they may not be as aware of their size to small children, but there is no more danger posed by a mastiff in the home than a terrier.
Dobermans on the other hand can behave a bit unpredictable at times. They have been over bred in the US, and such conditions can create psychological situations that may lead behavioral problems unless addressed swiftly and firmly.
Matiffs (English Mastiffs) were originally bred for bear-baiting and blood sport. However, aggression must be trained into the animal. One of the oldest ancestors of the the breed today was Sir Piers Legh II's companion. Legh was wounded at the Battle of Agincourt, and his noble, loyal animal stood over him throughout the remainder of the battle, defending him from further harm. Although Legh died of the initial wounds, the animal was returned to England, where his descendants are still honored.
Dobermans were originally bred as guard animals, as research into their original breeder, Karl Friedrich Louis Dobermann, can show. Dobermann (the breeder) was the tax collector and ran the local dog pound of Apolda, Germany. He developed the breed to be aggressive but loyal. They are intelligent, but by comparison to the Mastiff are a much younger breed. Doberman's were first developed in the late 1800's, while Mastiffs trace their bloodline to the Roman occupation of England and before.
The Mastiff Club of America describes how mastiffs behave with children:
They are gentle and protective, providing they have been raised with children and are accustomed to them. Small children should not be allowed to play roughly with a puppy; Mastiffs are a sensitive breed that can be permanently traumatized by rough handling.
See the related link below.
The addition of any breed of dog must be decided responsibly. Any dog can behave badly if he is trained to or not properly socialized. While some breeds of animals have been given a bad reputation by the types of endeavors in which they have been used, human's ultimately hold the responsibility for that. Any dog can be a loving and loyal companion. Any dog can be made to be potentially dangerous.
Which dog would be better would depend on the family situation. Both Staffies and Whippets are generally considered to be good family pets and both make good companion dogs. Staffies are sometimes called "nanny dogs" as they are known to be very fond of children and since they are quite hardy and butch, more so than Whippets, it is not easy for children to hurt them and therefore they tend to be more patient around children. However, Whippets generally get along better with other dogs, so it could be a better choice if there are already other dogs in the family. Having said that, if a Staffie is properly socialised with other dogs from a young age, it will also get along with other dogs. At the end of the day it depends on how you raise the dog as that will determine whether the dog makes a good family pet or not.
I would choose a whippet. They are usually quiet dogs and can give you lots of time out of the house to be together. They can be very easy to train too. I would know for I have a whippet my self. They can be frightened of very young children if you don't introduce them properly. Give it some time and you'll eventually fall in love with the whippet.
I've only had experience with two staffies. The one was really calm and patient with kids, but the new one is very excitable and might freak a little kid out. It depends from dog to dog.
As with any dog the most important aspect is training. A well trained Staffordshire is excellent with children.
Yes yes they are the best dog to have with children.
The staffie.
No, it is better to get medicine from a vet as there is a difference between human medication and those used for dogs.
Pit bulls often refer to breeds of dogs in the Mastiff group of dogs, which are generally larger dogs that are often (historically) used for dog fighting. Other breeds of dogs which are in the same category are the American Pit Bull Terrier, the Staffordshire Bull Terrier, and the American Staffordshire Terrier. I do know that Pit Bulls derive from cross-breeding's of Mastiffs and American Staffordshire Terriers (look at a pic of Staffordshires and Pit Bulls, they look almost the same!!) and maybe other breeds. Good answer! But, the term "pit bull" refers more to terriers. "Pit Bulls" included the American Pit Bull Terrier, the American Staffordshire Terrier, and the Staffordshire Terrier. The most common reference to the term "pit bull" refers to the American Pit Bull Terrier, which does not stem from the Mastiff family. The American Pit Bull Terrier more closely stems from a mix of Staffordshire Terrier and Old English Bulldog (not to be confused with American Bulldog.) The American Bulldog is more closely related to the Mastiff family, not the American Pit Bull Terrier, the American Staffordshire Terrier, or the Staffordshire Terrier.
a beagle
If you are asking whether it is good to neuter a dog, then the answer is yes, if you do not intend to breed with the dog then it is definitely better to neuter the dog. This makes him healthier and happier.
This depends on whether the Dog is used to children, as although the Staffordshire Bull Terrier is noted for its love of children and has been nicknamed ''The Nanny Dog'', this does not mean that a Dog that hasn't been brought up with children will be reliable. It is always better to buy a young puppy so that it can grow up with the child and learn to be tolerant with children. The Staffordshire Bull Terrier is generally very friendly and good with kids, but it would be unwise to expect a Dog that has had no experience with children to adapt to life with one. As a general rule, NEVER leave a Dog alone with children unattended, no matter what breed it is. Rather than introducing an adult dog to the baby, get a puppy so that it can learn how to behave with children. I have had my Staffordshire Bull Terrier since she was eleven weeks old and she has grown up with four kids, and as a result is very tolerant and friendly towards them.
i think it is bulldogs or bull mastif Fighting dogs is illegal but facing a pitbull with a dog of another race is unethical and cruel. The pitbull has an extra edge no matter how bigger the other dog is.
They are both the same breed, yorkie is short for yorkshire terrier
The pit bull is a non-official separate breed - to get pit bull puppies you breed two pit bulls together. However, there is no AKC registration available for this breed (currently) as it is not recognized as a separate breed.
I'd personally suggest the Staffordshire. It's energetic and Its ready to kick it on the couch next to you and loves people, especially children. I actually have a Labrador / Staffordshire mix. My children love him so much and a do I. He has the more of a Labrador body shape with a little bit of Staffordshire in its shape as well. With the attitude and behavior, he has more Staffordshire behavior rather then Labrador. My children, wife and I have had him for 5 years and we all still love him so much. So a mix between those two could be perfect.
