All dogs need grooming, even if their coat is short. If you don't groom your dog, you could be charged with animal cruelty and may even end up in jail. For example, if you never clean your dog's ears, they will be infected, and if you don't clip your dog's nails, they will become overgrown and your dog can throw out it's back and won't be able to walk. If you don't brush your dog's teeth with a dog toothpaste than it can contract gingivitis and may even die from infection. If you don't brush your dog's coat it will become unhealthy and shed everywhere (even if it is short hair), and it will become matted. If you don't clean your dog's eyes daily they will get tear stains and lead to infection. If you have a dog that has wrinkles in it's skin (like a mastiff, bulldog, pug, or shar pei) the skin could become infected if you don't clean it daily. So, I'm guessing you are a kid looking for a dog breed to ask your parents to buy. This is like saying "what type of humans don't need to be groomed?"... Every dog needs to be groomed, no matter what.
short hair'd dogs don't need to go to a salon to be groomed you can wash and care for them at home. dachshund, chihuahua, jack russell, pug, wymeriner, great dane
but even these dogs need to have their anel glands, ears cleaned, nails trimmed, and teeth checked
