ok well since I am Hindu it won't be a problem for me to answer...

basically, Buddhism evolved from Hinduism, and they are so similar that Hinduism re-enveloped Hinduism.

Buddhism says 'no idol worship and no priests are necessary to unite with the brahman'--which you should have learned about the brahman in class...I know I did and I took world history just last year....but if you didn't, brahman is the eternal soul...

they both believe in the multiple manifistations of the universal spirit brahm.this spirit reveals itsself through multiple gods or deities. this results in a buddist or Hindu worshipping any particular god that is considered spritual.
