Adderall and Wellbutrin typically work very well together. I myself took 150mg Wellbutrin XL and 90mg Adderall XR, it worked fine. It's more common to adjust the dose of Adderall, because the body does build up a tolerance.

However, 20 mg. of IR 3x daily does not have an equivalent XR dosage for the triple daily dose. The manufacturer offers Adderall XR 30 mg. capsules, which would mean you would take the full 60 mg dose (2 capsules) all in the morning. It would end up being equivalent to taking two 30mg dosages of IR, rather than 3x 20 mgs daily. If you feel that the 3x 20 mg. daily dosing of IR is too important, you might want to just stay on that version. You can always talk to your doc and see whats available.

I took Adderall XR 90 MG a day. I would have to be up by 3AM so I took my first dose by 4AM, then would take it again before lunch, around 10:30AM, then would take my last dose at 2:30PM

I am not a doctor but, personally speaking, I would not place a seven year old on Adderall at all nonetheless at 30 mg. per day. Adderall presents significant cardiovascular risks to both adults and children and, according to the FDA, though rare, it can cause sudden death in children. Additionally, if she is on 30 mg. now, what is she going to do for the rest of her life after she has reached the maximum Adderall dose and it has stopped working.

I've tried Vyvanse (the "new" Adderall XR) and it had the same effect. What seems to work best for me (and my doctor knows of my previous substance abuse problem) is 3 20mg pills of Adderall IR distributed throughout the day. Totaling the max adult dosage of 60mg for IR. If I remember correctly, that is equal to the max dose of 30mg of XR. Yet, this way you can distribute your meds throughout the day, and even take half a dose when its evening time. Yet, doctors usually are aware that Adderall IR is easier to abuse.

Adderall XR can take a while to kick in, especially if you have eaten right before or after taking it. I take it for narcolepsy, and I have to time my meals around every dose I take. If you just keep taking more, you will overdose. Talk to your doctor.
