What effect did Vietnam have on America?

Most Americans during that time period (the war years) didn't want to talk about it. They didn't want to use the word Vietnam, War, Army, Bombers, Guns, or killing. It was on television, in the newspapers, in the magazines, on the radio, everyday, every week, every month, year after year. "Most" Americans during the Vietnam era had had enough of killling and violence. They were sick of it!
