Gases such as Carbon dioxide and methane cause the atmosphere to absorb more of the suns heat, hence warming the atmosphere. A warmer atmosphere cases changes like less arctic ice, fewer glaciers, which case less reflectivity of the suns heat, the melting water raises sea levels. It can also cause climate changes which result in smaller winter snow packs, which means less water for the summer. On the other side a warmer climate can cause more severe storms much as El Nino does.
Generally, these molecules tend to hold heat, so as the amount of these molecules increase in the atmosphere, Earth's temperature would increase. While I believe humans can affect global climage, it's not a simple process. As the amount of these molecules increase in the atmosphere, other chemical processes change, so the process has been difficult to accurately predict.
All these greenhouse gases are responsible for global warming, the serious raising of earth's temperature, which is causing climate change.
Greenhouse gases like water vapour, carbon dioxide (CO2) and methane (CH4) raise the temperature of the atmosphere.
Carbon dioxide is a greenhouse gas. It traps heat radiated up from the warm surface of the earth. So more carbon dioxide means a warmer earth.
carbon dioxide (CO2) and Methane (CH4).
Methane blocks heat radiation twenty times more effectively per molecule than does carbon dioxide. Fortunately, atmospheric methane concentrations are very much lower than carbon dioxide.
The atmospheric temperature will decrease
The atmospheric gases carbon dioxide, methane and nitrous oxide are all greenhouse gases that help to heat the Earth.
Burning methane produces carbon dioxide and water vapor, but not nitrogen. This is because methane is composed of carbon and hydrogen, whose oxides are carbon dioxide and water respectively.

The relationship between the rise of ocean temperatures and the rise in the level of atmospheric carbon dioxide is that when there is a rise in atmospheric carbon dioxide the warmer the temperature of the ocean is

I believe the 3 most dominant gases of our atmosphere are nitrogen, carbon dioxide and methane

methane and oxygen react together (combustion) to give carbon dioxide + water. The reactants are methane and oxygen which react to form the products water and carbon dioxide.
1. Methane 2. Carbon 3. I dont remember :o
Methane burns in oxygen and gets oxidised. Carbon is oxidised to carbon dioxide, hydrogen to water.
