Not sure what you mean by 'what else', but Japan and Italy became axis powers, Hitler was a big deal in world war two, and France was weak during the second war because Germany hit them hard in the first.

Second Answer:

There were more deaths in World War 2 than in World War 1 because it was a much larger scale war than The Great War. There were more humans and nations involved in World War 2. The war greatly improved armament, weapons, vehicles, planes, ships, had better ability to supply the troops and the atom bombs were invented. In World War 1 the new technology was so new to the troops they really did not know how to use them nor did they have the vast amount of weapons and ammunition they had in World War 2.

World War 1 was primarily fought in Europe and the Balkan nations. World War 2 was fought around the world on nearly every continent. Hitler was the leader of Germany in World War 2 but during World War 1 The Kaiser Wilhelm II was the leader of Germany. The House of Hapsburg in Austria-Hungary was the cause of World War 1 but in World War 2 The Nazis were responsible for the start of the war.

Asia was involved in World War 2 and Japan. They were not a significant part of World War 1.
