electrical energy
A switch is fitted to turn off the light whilst the door is closed to avoid wasting electricity and money.
The energy to produce the light stops and the light stops.
A flashlight is given off light and heat energy once turn on.
The produced disappears whether you switch it off or not - otherwise it would get brighter and brighter. In a closed room, the light would eventually be absorbed, and converted to heat. Outdoors, the light may go into outer space, going on and on and on... at a very high speed known as the "speed of light". In general, bet on heat. Light turns into heat.
Either the switch is broken or it doesn't go to that light.
well most people say turn off the light but you could say switch of the light.
Yes. Simply turn on the ceiling fan while the light switch is in the "on" position. Adjust the spinning to the level of your choice. Now the fan will turn on and off when you switch the light on and off.

If you are referring to the can light, there is a manual switch on the light that allows it to operate when the doors is closed or to automatically turn on when the door is open and then shut off when the door is closed. If the switch is in this position and the light is staying on, the switch in the door to tell it to turn off is probably not working. The switch its self has no power. When you flip the switch it connects the circuit allowing electricity to flow through to the light bulb. The lightbulb works by creating resistance(the filment) which gives off energy in the form of heat and light. So what gives it power is you :).
Perhaps by unscrewing the bulb light.
