Assuming this is a 4.3 engine, remove the block coolant drain plugs. There is one on each side of the block. The passenger side is towards the front of the block and the drivers side is towards the back.
One of the hoses that connects the engine block to the radiator.
on the side of the engine block, on 1994 and later models, there are 2, one on each side on the side of the engine block
I was looking at a drawing on one of Fords websites and it shows the engine block heater for a 2002 Ford F-350 , 7.3 liter Diesel engine , takes the place of one of the engine expansion plugs on the drivers side of the engine , near the rear of the engine
if you see no plug than it has neither one you have to pop out the frost plug and put in a block heater
I have one question for you: how is a 350 in a 1998 GMC not a small block??
There is two knock sensors on this engine, one is on the engine block closest to the firewall below the spark plugs, the other one is on the opposite side of the engine block closest to the front of the vehicle beside the oil filter.
In the block you knock out a freeze plug and install it. There is also a magnetic one that you can attach to the block if it is iron.
I'm guessing that it could be leaking from one of your core plugs ( also known as freeze plugs , expansion plugs ) or your block heater if you have one , because that is installed in one of the holes in the engine block and takes the place of a core plug
