How can I check the ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE (ECT) sensor on my 1991 HONDA PRELUDE SI 2.1L
it should have a b21. 2.1L.
The sensor for the engine coolant on a 1991 Ford Probe LX is inside of the coolant tank. There is a lever, and when the fluid gets below this lever, it signals to be checked. It should be refilled.
The engine coolant on a 1991 Honda Civic is replaced by turning the drain petcock and releasing the coolant. The filler cap is then removed and coolant added until the system is full again.
one is located at the thermostat housing. the other is in the bottom of the radiator.
yes it does but under refrigirator
Its an hexagonal plug below the exhaust manifold on the side of the engine.
On the engine block, near the thermostat housing.
In the front of the engine under the throttle body...
The 1991 Honda Prelude has an interference engine. If the belt breaks serious engine damage will occur. Replace the belt at 90,000 miles. As the water pump is driven by the same belt, also replace the pump at the same time to avoid future labor costs.

how to add coolant to 1991 lumina?
The coolant gauge temp sensor is a one wire sensor located on the right rear of the engine block.
Under coolant fill, in the thermostat housing, rear of engine (middle of engine bay) above trans/engine seam
It sounds like a jalopy, or it sounds fine. But, you will probably lose coolant throughout the engine and the coolant will mix with the engine oil. Your low coolant light will probably come on a few times a week.
The 1988 Prelude Si has the optional B20A5 DOHC EFI engine. The standard B20A3 2.0 L SOHC carburated engine was not used in the Si. So you can tell by the fuel system, which engine you have. The standard engine had Carbs and the Si engine had FI. look for the upper radiator hose and fallow it back to the engine there you will see the water neck unbolt that and it will be right there.
it is under the cruise control servo on the front driver side engine bay. kindof a pain.
Yes it does
Depends, I know they have 2.0 and 2.1 for the 91 prelude.
i would check the freeze plugs on both sides of the side of the engine block.
the most lkely reason of coolant leaks to the exterior of the engine is through a breach between the head and block. you should check the gasket first.
