How fast is a jet allowed to go?

As fast as it can. There are no speed limits in place for aircraft. However airlines limits speed for economic reasons. Also the way the engine is designed affects speed. The faster the engine is going, the hotter the engine will be. The turbines get the worst of this heat and if it gets to hot the turbine will fail. And the economic reason being the faster the aircraft, the more fuel you need. The Concorde was a supersonic aircraft. How ever it burned way to much fuel and that proved way to costly to operate the craft.

What causes engine to knock after start you start it it's quiet then it knocks a few secs then quiet again this is not a everyday thing and only in the morning?

I'm specifically addressing late model cars/trucks. Because the EPA has very strict limits on the amount of un-burned gas that can enter the atmosphere, most modern vehicle's fuel control systems are programmed to heat the engine up quicker, thus reducing the amount of un-burned gas entering the atmosphere. The combination of how the engine control's the fuel/oil/air flow into the cylinders causes the engine to knock a little until the cylinder is warmed up so that a greater percent of gas is burned up. This is why on colder mornings you notice the knock more than on warmer days. Yes, in effect, you're getting less lubrication to the engine which can't be good overall. Your engine may die quicker, but you won't die from air pollution. It's always good to let the car sit at idle for a minute or two
