Unless you plan on re-fabbing the engine compartment and swapping out the tranny to squeeze in an Inline 6 I think your only two options would be the 2.5l 4cyl or the gutless GM 2.8l v6. I did some online research and according to a lot of people, installing the v6 is a waste of time and the hp increase is dissappointing.
Yes
The Jeep Comanche came out in 1987 with a AMC 4.0L in line 6 cylinder engine. This engine is a perfect fit for the 1986 Comanche. My 1986 4x4 was originally shipped with a Renault Diesel engine. The engine was pulled and replaced with the 1987 AMC 4.0L in line 6 which is still running at 260 000KM. These engines can be picked up for anything from $200 - $2000. But why not sell your Comanche and buy a 4.0L in line 6 with 4x4.
It sure will, as long as the engines are the same
a Chevy 350 small block will fit into a 86 jeep comanche with some modifications. -A 350 small block will fit in a 86 comanche without modification just be prepared for a lot of work beacuse when you do that the ENTIRE driveline needs replaced all the way back to the knuckles on the u joints at the differentials. you will also need to adjust the motor mounts. but nothing significant.
I know an 87 honda accord engine will fit.
1987-1995 jeep wranglers ... I'm pretty sure they'll fit the CJ7s as well. But I know they WILL NOT fit TJs or JKs.
Yes the 87 and 83 are both YJ's
1987 thru 1995 are all YJ's and are the same.
Yes, it should work, as long as the engines are the same
