Gravity is the factor the makes the difference between weight and mass. Mass remains the same weither your on earth or in outer space or on the moon, but weight is different depending on the amount of gravity that is exerted on the object. If you weigh 200 lbs. on earth your would weigh 1/6th of that amount on the moon, so your weight depends on the amount of gravity.
