Gerbils naturally dig around and burrow constantly. If the gerbil has a wire enclosure, then surely it will make a mess all around it. Cages that are better suited for gerbils so that they do not do this are aquarium setups or fully enclosed plastic cages, such as Habitrail Ovo.
You can purchase a gerbil cage at your local Pet Co store. You can also purchase one online from the Amazon website and have it shipped directly to your house.
I wouldn't, the smell can harm him. Use something safe like unscented baby wipes.
yes it is the best home because they chew through plastic homes and they push the bedding out of wire cages
Hamster cages are a good choice for a gerbil. If it has a metal pan it is a very good choice. Habitrails are plastic. Gerbils love to chew so you might see a hole in the side of it. That's what happend to mine. Hope this helps!!
Food is relatively cheep around £2-£6. Cages are the most expensive ranging from £25 for small cages usually for one sometimes two gerbils to £100 for groups. The one I brought was £70 from pets at home large for 3-4 gerbils.
Like if you intruduce a baby gerbil to a female and a male gerbil they might be nice to him but the male gerbil might play fight or fight in the cage i do not think if you leave the baby gerbil in the same cage with the male gerbil or a female gerbil the female gerbil migt fight or play fight with the baby gerbil if u do please be real care full because if the male gerbil no that the babby gerbil if its a baby girl gerbil yhey will mate or if u do the same with the adult female gerbil they mate to with a baby boy gerbil or adult gerbil will mate to and also mate means that the female gerbil have babbies with the male gerbils .
a gerbil is called a gerbil
A gerbil typically runs for $5-$12, depending on where you acquire it. Remember that it is always better to acquire your gerbil from a breeder than from a pet store, as they are typically healthier and more readily tamed. A gerbil's equipment will run for a total of about $40, if you go the cheap ten-gallon aquarium route. The breakdown would be like this: - A tank = $10+ - Bedding = $7+ - Water Bottle = $4 - Food = $6 - Food Dish = $1 - Exercise Wheel = $5+ - Nest Box = $4+ - Assorted Treats and Chews There are also cages that may include some of these expenses in their price, but be more expensive therefore. Habitrail is the most popular brand name pet cage, and their cages start at $20.
