Eid Al-Fitr which commemorates the end of Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic Hijra Calendar and the month of fasting.

Eid Al-Adha which celebrates the end of the pilgrimage season when Muslims sacrifice an animal such as a sheep or goat to commemorate Abraham's willingness to sacrifice even his own son on God's command. Eid Al-Adha falls between the 9th to 13th day of the 12th month of the Islamic Hijra Calendar)

The above festivals are celebrated by all Muslims.

Eid Milad-An-Nabi which marks the prophet Mohammad's birthday. However not all Muslims celebrate this festival and many scholars are actually against the celebration of the Prophet's birthday and consider it bid'ah (innovation).

Ashura is celebrated only by the Shi'ites to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Husayn ibn Ali.
